摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power source for a progressive wave tube by adding a function for increasing a dielectric strength to a conventional electric source for a progressive wave tube. SOLUTION: A cathode condition supervisory circuit 22 monitors a working condition of a primary lateral circuit 21 for a heater electrode, judges a cold condition of a cathode electrode 33 by a non-working time of a heater and permits to conduct a relay contact 23. In response to a TWT dielectric strength control signal 4, when the progressive wave tube 3 is in cold condition, i.e., the relay contact 23 is conducting, the signal is transmitted to a series regulator control circuit 16. The series regulator control circuit 16 receives the control signal 4 to make temporarily a series regulator circuit 15 to be on-state. A voltage higher than a helix designation voltage from an electric source 11 for a helix electrode is applied to an electrode of the progressive wave tube 3 without lowering a voltage in the series regulator circuit 15 and an impurity adsorbed to the electrode is scattered to increase inter-electrode dielectric strength.
