METHOD FOR MAKING COLOR STAINLESS STEEL SHEETS TO USE OF AN OXIDE-CHROME COATING

The colored stainless steel plate is manufactured by directly evaporating chromium oxide (Cr2O3) in a vacuum chamber under less than 10-4 torr to deposit the vapor 50-1000 angstrom thick on the surface of steel plate, which is to be colored. The output power of electron beam is adjusted at 0.04-0.14kW/cm2. The method can make a variety of colored steel plates, which can be used for exterior or interior building materials, elevators and decorating arts.
