5-Chloro-6-phenyl-2-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-4-pyrimidinylamino]aceta mide derivatives represented by general formula (I). Because of having a potent antirheumatic effect and a low toxicity, these compounds are useful as remedies and preventives for rheumatic diseases such as rheumatism, Becet's disease and ankylosing spondylitis, and inflammatory immunologic diseases such as multiple screlosis, systemic lupus erythematosus and inflammatory autoimmunologic diseases such as Sjoegren's syndrome. In said formula, R<1> represents methyl or cyclopropyl.
