<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-port content addressable memory(CAM) device and its method. SOLUTION: A 3 port CAM device is provided with a CAM, a retrieving control block, and a maintenance control block. The CAM is constituted so as to store data. The retrieving control block is arranged, so as to receive retrieving data and a retrieving control signal through a first port in order to retrieve data in the CAM, and constituted, so that retrieving operation is performed by accessing the CAM. Retrieving operation is performed in a retrieving cycle, and each retrieving cycle is performed over plural clock cycles. In this constitution, retrieving operation of 2 or more can be performed at the same time over to extend clock cycle or more. Retrieved result by retrieving operation is outputted through a second port. The maintenance control block is constituted, so that read-out/write-in operation is performed by reading out or writing specified data by the CAM via a third port.</p> |
