LIQUID CRYSTAL ELEMENT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal element attaining uniform cell thickness even when a state of positive pressure is present inside the liquid crystal cell and preventing display faults due to air bubbles generated by a local shock given from the outside and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal element using a flexible substrate for at least one out of the upper and lower substrates 1, 2, a mechanism forming a closed space between the upper and lower substrates and preventing the distance between the upper and lower substrates from increasing beyond a specified limit is provided on part of the displaying part. A relation expressed as (the pressure inside the liquid crystal cell)-(the pressure outside the cell)>=0 holds with respect to the pressures inside and outside the liquid crystal cell in the state the liquid crystal is sealed inside.
