PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a hybrid vehicle which has a motor and an engine as power sources so as to make a generator operate by a marginal power to charge while the vehicle travels with the engine as the power source. SOLUTION: When the traveling state of a hybrid vehicle is changed from a 1st state wherein an instantaneously required travel power is PL1, and a vehicle velocity is V1 to a 2nd state wherein an instantaneously required travel power is PL2 and a vehicle velocity is V2, a power PGEN generated by a generator is (PICE*-PL1). In accordance with the change of the instantaneously required travel power PL, the generated power PGEN is changed to PICE*-PL2). With this constitution, the instantaneously required travel power PL2 can be obtained while an engine is operated with a constant steady engine output PICE*. |
