PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly AV information processing unit by which a user unfamiliar with the use of the processing unit can simply and quickly execute required processing even when the user applies processing such as reproduction or recording to huge kinds and amounts of AV information. SOLUTION: The AV information processing unit is provided with an AV information recording section 14, a microphone 1 that is used to request execution of information processing employing AV information, an AV control agent 10 that uses the stored AV information to execute the requested information processing, an AV information database 15 that stores information relating to the AV information, and an interactive agent 5 that retrieves the related information corresponding to an unexecutable processing from the AV information database 15 and provides an output of the retrieved information when the AV control agent 10 receives a request for processing which is unexecutable for the agent 10.
