PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of reliably executing communications by eliminating a communication fault even when communications are not possible like a conventional example in communications with an opposite party. SOLUTION: A facsimile machine 20 has a shortened dial table 7d in a RAM 7 for previously storing telephone numbers being a plurality of pieces of destination information by each shortened number and communication conditions including a busy sound pattern, a communication sequence pattern, a calling sound pattern and a signal sending level which are respectively set in accordance with each destination information. A main control part 1 automatically set- changes the set communication condition in accordance with a communication fault state in communications with the facsimile machine of an opposite party in accordance with a prescribed procedure (a step S8 in Fig. 6, steps S14, S20 in Fig. 7 and a step S35 in Fig. 8).
