SOLUTION: An operation sequence is set so that a secondary transfer roller 48 and a cleaner blade 491 do not abut on/separate from an intermediate transfer belt 41 until primary transfer is completed after a vertical synchronizing signal is outputted from a read sensor for vertical synchronization 40. That is secondary transfer processing and cleaning processing are executed after completing the primary transfer.
