PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which exhibits an excellent anti-rheumatic action and is useful as a medicine for treating and preventing immunologic inflammatory diseases, for example, rheumatic diseases such as chronic articular rheumatism, Behcet's disease and ankylosing spondylitis, and autoimmune inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematous and Sjogren's syndromes. SOLUTION: A 2-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-4-aminopyrimidine derivative is represented by the formula (I) [R1 is hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl or the like; R2 is a lower alkyl, a mono- or di-hydroxy (lower) alkyl, di- lower alkylamino (lower) alkyl or the like, or R1 and R2 are bound together with the adjacent nitrogen atom to form a cyclic group which may be substituted with R5 (R5 is hydroxy or the like): R3 is a halogen atom, a lower alkyl or the like; R4 is a lower alkyl, a non-substituted or substituted phenyl or the like].
