PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA polymeraseβinhibitor capable of specifically inhibiting the exited DNA polymeraseβand being inexpensively produced and a therapeutic agent for diseases caused by sthenia of DNA polymeraseβsuch as overcoming resistance against chemotherapy or irradiation therapy of cancers, recovery from abnormal state observed in combination therapy, acute myelogenic leukemia, hyperthyroidism and telangiectatic malfunction, and so forth. SOLUTION: This DNA polymeraseβinhibitor contains a compound expressed by general formula (1) (R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently H, a 1-3C alkyl or a 1-3C acyl). The therapeutic agent for diseases caused by sthenia of the DNA polymeraseβcontains the aforesaid compound expressed by general formula (1) as an effective ingredient.
