PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a protein using a cell-free protein- synthesizing system capable of simply synthesizing a sufficient amount of a protein using a double-stranded DNA such as plasmid and PCR product as a template. SOLUTION: This is a method for synthesizing a protein using a cell-free protein-synthesizing system containing a cell-free extract, wherein a linear nucleic acid which does not serve as a template for the protein synthesis is added into the synthesizing reaction mixture at 10 μg/ml to 10 mg/ml.
