PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder preventing the transport accuracy from lowering when a document is a small size, avoiding the unnecessary high-speed transport, and reducing the noise. SOLUTION: This automatic document feeder is provided with a paper feed part detecting the size of the document stacked on a document load means and feeding the paper sheet to an image readout part, a paper transport delivery part stopping the fed document at the image readout part, transporting it again after the readout of the image, and delivering the paper sheet, and a control means actuating and controlling the paper transport delivery part and the paper feed part. The control means can set the transport speed at least between a general transport speed V1 and a transport speed V2 slower than the general speed and, when the detected document size is smaller than a specific size, and when the transport order of the document is the first or it is a mixed stack mode, the continuous paper feed is possible at the transport speed V2. |
