INK JET RECORDER AND METHOD FOR SETTING ACTUATOR DRIVE SIGNAL OF RECORDING HEAD IN INK JET RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which the effect of nonlinear characteristics of the actuator in a recording head is suppressed. SOLUTION: A drive signal generating circuit 9 for supplying a drive signal to the piezoelectric oscillator 25 of a recording head 8 is mounted on a printer controller 1. The drive signal generating circuit 9 is arranged such that potential information is supplied from a potential information storage means 12 and the middle potential (VC) of a drive signal being inputted to the piezoelectric oscillator 25 is set based on the potential information stored in the potential information storage means. The middle potential is set in a range insusceptible to the effect of nonlinear characteristics of the piezoelectric oscillator 25 thus providing a recorder ensuring a best image quality stably.
