PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a wrinkle from growing and enlarging by removing the wrinkle even when the wrinkle is created. SOLUTION: This recorder comprises a supplying motor 43 and a winding motor 44 for independently driving a supplying roller 41 and a winding roller 42, respectively. When the recording on the next recording medium is started, a control section 40 drives the supplying motor 43 first prior to the recording or temporally sets the speed of the supplying roller 41 higher than that of the winding roller 42. After that, the speed of the supplying roller 41 is set to be relatively lower than that of the winding roller 42 and then a normal conveyance operation for an ink ribbon is executed so that the ink ribbon is temporally released from the tension condition.
