PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cold-rolling metallic strips by which the product of the metallic strip the surface defects such as dents and rubbed marks of which are reduced is obtained while executing the removal by wiping of rolling oil or the like on the surface of the metallic strip in a reversing mill. SOLUTION: By at least one pass including the final pass, worn powder or the like stuck on the surface of the metallic strip on the inlet side is removed by pressing wiping pads against the surface of the metallic strip on the inlet side of a rolling stand and also, by pressing wiping rolls against the surface of the metallic strip on the outlet side of the rolling stand without pressing the wiping pads, rolling is executed while removing the rolling oil or the like stuck on the surface of the metallic strip on the outlet side of the rolling stand with those wiping rolls. By at least one pass including the final pass, the rolling oil put on the metallic strip is purged between the outlet side of the rolling stand and the wiping rolls.
