PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening tool for a machine joint of threaded reinforcing bars using a coupler assuring an enhanced working efficiency and serviceable even in the case threaded reinforcing bars are arranged upright at a narrow spacing. SOLUTION: A retaining means 1 in approximately cylindrical shape is formed from a pair of pieces 1A and 1B split into two at the center and a coupler B is pinched by the retaining means 1. The retaining means 1 is held by a ring-shaped frame 4 arranged as opening and closing, and a plurality of guide rollers 6 installed on the frame are engaged with a guide groove provided at the periphery of the retaining means 1. A motor 7b of a driving means 7 is operated, and its rotation is transmitted to a flat gear 7a via bevel gears 7c and 7d, and the coupler B is rotated together with the retaining means 1 via the external teeth 3 of the retaining means 1 meshing with the flat gear 7a.
