PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and efficiently eluting metal ions and the effectively prevent the scale deposition within a system by preventing the elution obstruction of the metal ions by deposition of the scale on electrodes in a method for preventing the deposition of the scale by impressing a DC voltage between a pair of the electrodes and eluting the metal ions to a circulating cooling water system. SOLUTION: The polarities of the electrodes 9A and 9B for electrolysis are alternately inverted in the method for preventing the deposition of the scale by the DC electrolytic elution of the metal ions into the circulating cooling water.
