PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ralatively easily and effectively reactivating a copper-containing catalyst material. SOLUTION: In order to cyclically reactivate a gradually deactivated copper- containing catalyst material, an oxygen-containing gas stream is applied to the catalyst material and, when a reactor is in a hot operation state, the oxygen- containing gas stream is intermittently applied to the catalyst material during the reactivating period and a cooling period is provided during the reactivating period and, when the monitor temperature of the catalyst material exceeds the maximum level being a predeterminable tolerance level higher than a predetermined operation temperature level at latest in each case, the reactivating period is completed. |
