PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulb-treating unit for treating to cut and remove foliage and hairy roots of the bulb, such as an onion, capable of surely and satisfactorily treating to cut and remove the foliage and hairy roots while simplifying a measure for transporting the bulb to be treated, and capable of smoothly eliminating the removed foliage and roots. SOLUTION: This bulb-treating unit has a transport chamber (12) in a machine casing (10) having a feed pathway (10A) at one of both the longitudinal ends and a discharge pathway (10B) at another end, and further is equipped with a cutting chamber (13) positioned under the transport chamber (12) so that the cutting chamber (13) is internally connected to the transport chamber (12) through a long pipe (10C) bored in the bottom of the machine casing, wherein each of the bulbs (11) fed from the feed pathway (10A) rolls and moves through the transport chamber (12) on the bottom of the machine casing (10) to the discharge pathway (10B), and the foliage (11a) and hairy roots (11b) of the each bulb (11) which is rolling and moving through the transport chamber (12) are protruded from the long hole (10C) into the cutting chamber (13) and cut off with a cutter attached to the cutting chamber (13).
