PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing type fishing reel that can prevent the fishing line from being broken by a large-sized fish by uniformizing the tension fluctuation of the line and from being fed excessively whereby the line can be surely recovered. SOLUTION: This double bearing type fishing reel is equipped with the spool for winding up the fishing line and the drag mechanism 5 for rotating the spool, the torque controller 9 presses the outer wheel 7 and the inner shaft 6 relatively movably in the shaft direction to adjust the slip torque between the outer wheel 7 and the inner shaft 6, when a tension larger than a prescribed value acts on the line wound around the spool, the outer wheel 7 and the inner shaft 6 slip whereby the spool is rotated and the line wound around the spool is drawn out. In this reel, a plurality of through-holes 69 are bored on the inner shaft 6 and the circulation path of the lubricant is formed so that it may pass through a plurality of rollers 8, between the outer wheel 7 and the inner shaft 6, and the through-holes 69. The outer wheel 7 is equipped with radiation fins 32.
