PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preloaded tapered roller bearing capable of effectively preventing skidding of a vertical rotary machine operated at high speed and light load, and a vertical rotary machine using it. SOLUTION: An outer ring 1 whose outer peripheral surface is machined into a triangular shape is contained within a housing 2 binding its outer periphery, so that the triangular shape is transferred onto the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring 1. Under these conditions, the outer ring 1, a plurality of rollers 4 and a circular inner ring 3 are integrated together to apply a predetermined preload to some of the rollers 4. |
