PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platemaking apparatus having good image dimension reproducibility without wrinkle or the like in a master at plate-making even by using, of course, a conventional master, a master having a thin thickness of a porous support or a master having no porous support. SOLUTION: A master holding angle varying means 50 has a constitution and a function of changing a master holding angleθa formed between a half linear line connecting the center Nc of a nip between a thermal head 11 and a platen roller 10 to the axial center 10b of the roller 10 as seen from the axial direction of the roller 10 and a half linear line connecting a master contact boundary Mb contacted with the outer peripheral surface of the roller 10 at a downstream side of a master conveying direction X from the center Nc of the nip by a master 8 to the axial center 10b of the roller 10 as seen from the axial direction of the roller 10.
