摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnet material having excellent magnetic characteristic, and a bond magnet. SOLUTION: This cooling roll 5 for manufacturing magnet material is constituted of a roll base member 51 and a surface layer 52 covering the outer periphery of the roll base member. It is preferable that constituent material of the roll base member 51 is composed of metal material having high thermal conductivity. The surface layer 52 is composed of material whose thermal conductivity is lower than that of the roll base member 51, and preferably, composed of ceramics. When the maximum thickness of the surface layer 52 is Tmax, and the minimum thickness is Tmin the surface layer 52 satisfying 1.01<=TzQX/ Tmin<=3 is formed. In a manufacturing method of the magnet material, fused magnet material is jetted from a nozzle 3, made to collide against the cooling roll 5 which is rotated to the nozzle 3, cooled and solidified. Thus, belt shaped- magnet material is manufactured.
