PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image observing device capable of making the perception of the size of an object image nearly coincide with each other between that at the time of observation with naked eyes and that at the time of video see- through observation. SOLUTION: The image observing device is provided with an image pickup system acquiring the image of external environment through an image pickup optical system, and a display system displaying the image of the external environment acquired by the image pickup system on a display element and guiding luminous flux from a display means to an eyeball through an eyepiece optical system. In the device, the optical axis on the external environment side of the image pickup optical system is nearly aligned with an axis obtained by extending the optical axis on the eyeball side of the eyepiece optical system, and the entrance pupil of the image pickup optical system is arranged to be deviated to the external environment side from a position equivalent to the entrance pupil of the eyeball optical system. |
