PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile device driven by a linear motor, which is so structured that a coil 8 and a fixed magnet 6 is disposed opposite to each other with a gap between and a head stock 3 provided with the coil 8 is moved along the fixed magnet 6, when it is excited and which is provided with a braking mechanism of simple structure and has a sufficient braking force. SOLUTION: This device comprises an air cylinder 16, disposed in parallel with the traveling direction of a head stock 3 for supporting the same, a compressor 17 for supplying fluid pressure to the air cylinder 16, a two-port solenoid valve 18 installed in a channel connected between the compressor 17 and the air cylinder 16, and a controller 12 which outputs a signal for opening the regulator valve 18, when a linear motor is normally operated and closes the regulator valve 18 when the power of the linear motor is turned off or the linear motor is stopped for emergency. |
