Apparatus (10) is disclosed for repairing a flaw (31) in a surface (30), particularly in the field of vehicle glass repair. The apparatus has a housi ng (11) adapted to engage the surface to be repaired, a repair seal for sealing between the housing (11) and around the flaw (31) to be repaired to define a repair space (65) over the flaw. A reservoir communicates with the repair space (65) and, in use, contains liquid repair material (86). A vacuum pump communicates with the repair space (65) and the reservoir to apply a partial vacuum to the repair space (65) and to the reservoir without repair liquid (86) from the reservoir being drawn into the repair space (65) in order to degas separately the flaw (31) and repair liquid (86) in the reservoir. Afte r appropriate degassing, repair liquid (86) from the reservoir is caused to fl ow into the repair space (65) to fill the repair space with repair liquid.
