The invention relates to a filtering apparatus, the operation of which is based on the alternation of filtering stages and following air flushing stages. The apparatus comprises one or several filtering elements (6) placed into the filtering room (5) restricted by the casing (12), the filtering room being provided with an inlet assembly (4) for the liquid flow to be filtered, an outlet assembly (8) for the filtered liquid flow, and a channel (9) for flushing the filtering elements with air. Further, the filtering room (5) is arranged to be prefilled with liquid before the next filtering stage is initiated after the flushing. According to the invention, a filling channel (11) is directed into the filtering room (5) through the casing for this purpose, the channel being provided with a valve (13), which closes the channel at the same time as the filtering room is opened, for example, for changing the filtering elements. Closing may be arranged to happen automatically. The filtering room (5) may include an opening cover (16) and an axle bar (7) supporting the filtering elements (6) and arranged between the cover and the valve (13) operated by the spring (14), the bar (7) being moved from its place from the effect of the spring upon opening the cover at the same time as the spring closes the valve (11). |
