An emergency call system with a theft prevention function which uses an arithmetic and control unit (2) to set the vehicle in a theft prevention mode or a drive mode based on information from a HELP center or a cellphone of a regular user via a data transmission unit (7) or via an operation unit (5) and accurately judges, under the control of the arithmetic and control unit (2), the occurrence of a vehicle theft based on the current position information of the vehicle obtained through a GPS reception/gyro sensor unit (4) and such information as user ID authentication decision, the number of ID authentication tries, vehicle door opened or closed and time elapsed while the door is kept closed. <IMAGE> |
