The invented process for producing glass according to the present invention a mixture forming glass is melted within a melting zone (2), melted glass is then refined within a refining zone (7) in order to remove bubbles, subsequently the glass melt is introduced in a treatment zone (8) wherein it is cooled down and is supplied in an (13), whereby the glass melt is mixed in the region of the treatment zone (8) outlet (16) and the elutriation channel (13) inlet. A glass oven (1) for making the above-described process has a melting zone (2) and a refining zone (7) being followed up with a treatment zone (8), wherein there is a mixing means (15) situated at inlet (16) into an elutriation channel (13), whereby the mixing means (15) extends across the whole width of the treatment zone (8) outlet to the elutriation channel (13).
