FM RECORDING APPARATUS OF VIDEO TAPE RECORDER

PURPOSE: An FM(frequency modulation) recording apparatus is to correct channel unbalance of a reproduced FM signal using an automatic gain controller, thereby improving image quality in the FM recording. CONSTITUTION: An automatic gain controller(202) constantly controls a level of FM luminance signal. A limiter(208) limits the level of FM luminance signal. A recording equalizer(210) equalizes an output of the limiter according to characteristic of a recording tape. A color low pass filter(214) detects a color FM signal from the FM modulated video signal supplied from the automatic gain controller. And a mixer(218) mixes the luminance FM signal supplied from the recording equalizer and a color FM signal supplied from the color low pass filter and then provide the mixed signal to a recording header. A drop-out detecting portion(206) detects whether a signal is omitted from the reproducing FM signal output from the automatic gain controller. And a switch(212) is disposed between the recording equalizer and the mixer to be controlled by the drop-out detecting portion.
