PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose peracetic acid without bringing about a problem such as an increase of ions or the lowering of water quality and to efficiently remove peracetic acid from peracetic acid-containing water to achieve the recovery and effective utilization of water. SOLUTION: Peracetic acid is brought into contact with activated carbon to be decomposed. After peracetic acid-containing water is brought into contact with activated carbon, it is brought into contact with an anion exchange resin. A peracetic acid-containing water treatment apparatus is equipped with an activated carbon column 1 and an anion exchange column 3.
