PURPOSE: A paper supplying unit of a printer is provided to inform the size of papers received in a cassette even when the cassette is received in a printer, thereby preventing the printing errors due to the disagreement between the size of images to print and the size of the papers. CONSTITUTION: A paper supplying unit of a printer includes a cassette(200) detachably coupled in a main body(100) of a printer and receiving papers, a protrusion part(260) protruded to the outside of the cassette to move in association with a guide plate(212), and a variable resistor(170) mounted in the printer to have a resistance value varying according to the standards of the papers by the contact with the protrusion part when the cassette is received in the printer, wherein the variable resistor includes a resistor main body(171) incorporated with a resistance wire(172), and a guide bar(174) contacting the resistance wire and protruded to the outside of the resistor main body, the guide bar being formed with an insertion groove(174a) to be inserted by the protrusion part slidably.
