PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop an opening/closing body for a vehicle at an arbitrary intermediate position between the fully closed position and the fully opened position by a simple operation. SOLUTION: An opening/closing device of the opening/closing body 1 supported by a vehicle body in an opening/closing manner in the vertical direction to open/close the opening/closing body 1 by a driving means 5 comprises a braking means 11 t stop and hold the opening/closing body 1 at an arbitrary intermediate position between the fully opened position and the fully closed position, an operation switch 19 which is provided on an appropriate position and operated by a plurality of times, and control device to judge the operational content based on the operation time of the operation switch 19 and control the driving means 5 and the braking means 11 so as to be selectively operated.
