PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alkaline liquid detergent composition having low foaming actions, good in detergency and stability in a lapse of days and allowing to precipitate washed and removed dirts in heating washing, to easily recover the waste material after washing, to recycle the detergent, to use the detergent by a washing method having little load to environment and to simply complete rinsing at a temperature close to the normal temperature. SOLUTION: This detergent composition comprises (A) an alkali agent, (B) a nonionic surfactant represented by general formula I: R-(EO)n-(PO)mH (I) (R is an 8-20C alkyl or alkenyl; EO denotes ethylene oxide; average number of added moles n is 5-100; PO denotes propylene oxide; and average number of added moles m is 1-50) and (C) a 5-15C fatty acid or a salt thereof, does not cause liquid separation at the normal temperature and makes a precipitation comprising the B as a main ingredient generate at a lower layer when controlled by water so that the concentration of B therein become the value within the range of 0.1-10 wt.% and heated to 45-95 deg.C.
