PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a launching pier capable of safely constructing a pier while eliminating the influence of ocean waves or tide level on the sea and simplifying the connecting work of lower parts for supporting the pier on the land. SOLUTION: This method comprises a crane traveling girder arranged in the extending direction of the pier, a launching girder slidable in the extending direction of the pier along the crane traveling girder, and a guide steel pipe vertically mounted in the extending directional front of the launching girder. A pile inserted into the guide steel pipe is driven by a pile driver or the crane traveling girder. A new pile head cross beam is set on the head part of the newly driven pile in the direction crossing the extending direction of the pier. A new crane traveling girder is set on the new pile head cross beam, and the launching girder is advanced to protrude its tip forward over the new pile head cross beam. A new guide steel pile is mounted and driven on the front of the launching girder.
