PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provice a pure water making apparatus constituted by successively arranging activated carbon housing tanks (columns) and reverse osmosis membrane modules in series and improved so as not only to enable the employment of a water passing condition (SV) prevented from the propagation of various bacteria in the activated carbon housing tanks (columns) but also to prevent the closure of reverse osmosis membranes caused by the mixing/adhesion of bacteria to prevent the lowering of the amount of permeated water to achieve the stable operation of the reverse osmosis membrane modules. SOLUTION: Fibrous activated carbon is housed in each activated carbon housing tank (column).
