PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or eliminate problems in conventional sustained release medicines by providing an essentially zero-order sustained release medicine- containing preparation reducing or elimination the disturbance caused by a food. SOLUTION: This essentially zero-order sustained release medicine-containing tablet has a tablet core containing a medicine surrounded by a first coating or membrane consisting of a water-insoluble polymer containing fine water-soluble particles essentially dispersed randomly in it, and a second hydrophilic thin membrane coating. The second thin membrane coating consists of the pharmaceutically permissible hydrophilic polymer such as a mixture of ethyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose bringing essentially a food neutral system, and it becomes possible to perform a sustained release of the medicine not being affected by the food. The method for producing such tablets is also provided.
