PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain composition having excellent properties which are a comparatively high relative permittivity at a high frequency range, the small absolute value of a temperature coefficient of the resonance frequency and a large no-load quality factor, and to provide an electronic component using the same porcelain composition. SOLUTION: The dielectric porcelain composition is constituted with a sintered compact composed of (1) an XY2Ti4O12-type crystal phase, (2) a crystal phase of at least one selected from the group consisting of an (X, K) Y2Ti4O12 phase and a perovskite-type crystal phase consisting of A, Y, Ti and O and (3) a crystal phase consisting of Ba, Ti and O (wherein A is Li and/or Na; X is a divalent element; Ba is contained in an amount of >=15 mol% in terms of its oxide; and Y is a trivalent element including Sm at least) and having a precipitated TiO2 phase in an area of <=50% based on the sectional area of the sintered compact when shown by the scanning electron-microscopic photograph (reflected electron image) of the cross section of the sintered compact. |
