Continuous circumferential casting wheel - with coolant channels formed by casting mould rim and insert discs

Revolving wheel type continuous casting mould, where the casting is produced on the circumference of a wheel, comprises a hollow water cooled housing with a ring shaped metal bandage set into the circumference. The bandage has a ring shaped mould recess, which is covered by an endless metal strip over part of the wheel travel. In the interior of the housing are fitted two disc shaped parts, which are in contact with the side walls of the metal bandage and have on the contact surfaces recesses which together with the walls of the bandages forms channels for the passage of cooling water. High cooling efficiency of the metal bandage is achieved and quicker solidification of the section cast in it.
