PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lawn surface-maintaining device which can carry out two types of with a single device work. SOLUTION: This vertical slicer 1 is provided with a main body frame 101, a power-transmitting mechanism 400 which can change and output a rotation movement inputted from a power source into a rotation movement in the first rotation direction and a rotation movement in the second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction, and a hexagonal blade shaft 329 which can be rotated in response to the output of the power-transmitting mechanism 400 and to which a blade 340 for maintaining the surface of a lawn can be attached.
