PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of activating for plant, concretely, growth promoting method, dormancy suppressing method, method of imparting resistance to stress to a plant such as drying and high temperature/low temperature and osmotic pressure or the like, anti-ageing method or the like controlling the growth of the plant. SOLUTION: The above problems are dissolved by providing an activator for plant using a 4-24C ketol fatty acid especially 9-hydroxy-10-oxo-12(Z), 15(Z)- octadecadienoic acid as an active ingredient.
