PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display(LCD) is to decrease an occurrence of a texture generated due to the fringe field by making the width of an opening pattern larger than the interval between two substrates, thereby preventing degradation of picture quality. CONSTITUTION: A gate line(11) is arranged on the first substrate. A data line(31) is arranged normal to the gate line on the first substrate and is insulated from the gate line. A thin film transistor is arranged adjacent to a cross point of the gate line and the data line. The thin film transistor includes a gate electrode(12) connected to the gate line, a source electrode(32) connected to the data line and a drain electrode(33) spaced apart from the source electrode. The first electrode(41) having the first opening(401) is connected to the drain electrode. The second substrate facing the first substrate includes the second electrode formed thereon and having the second opening. The width of the first opening is wider than the interval between the first substrate and the second substrate.
