PURPOSE:To simplify the sequence control by arranging a sheet feed device of a copying machine or the like so that sheets can be fed by the same feed control through the same feed path for both the cassette feed and manual feed. CONSTITUTION:A sheet P stacked in a paper feed section comprised of a paper feed cassette 16 is fed by means of a paper feed roller 6 when a square bar 20 is rotated one revolution in an arrow direction by a one-revolution clutch operated by a paper feed signal. The sheet P is brought into contact with a resist roller 7, waits in a form of loop, then is fed to the next process. The cassette paper feed an manual paper feed can be attained in the same sequence if the following equations are satisfied: alpha-x loop quantity under manual feed, beta-y loop quantity under cassette feed, alpha=beta, difference between (a) and (b) positions =20mm., where, (a) is the paper tip position under manual paper feed, (x) is the distance from the paper tip to a roller 7, (alpha) is the feed quantity of a paper feed roller 6, (b) is the paper tip position, (y) is the distance from the position (b) to the roller 7, (beta) is the feed quantity of the paper feed roller. |
