PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is used for scalp and hair and has the excellent synergistic effect of an excellent gray hair-preventing and inhibiting effect with a softening effect. SOLUTION: This composition for scalp and hair, characterized by containing a Zanthoxylum piperitum (L.) DC extract and one or more moisturizing agents selected from the group consisting of glycerol, 1,3-butylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol 400, polypropylene glycol 1,500, polyethylene glycol 4,000, polyethylene glycol 6,000, glucam E-10, hyaluronic acid, biohyaluronic acid, sorbit liquid, erythritol, maltitol, soluble collagen, condition sulfate, tuberose polysaccharide, urea, trisaccharides, and the like.
