PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new clapping detector that can respond to hand clapping such that when a user leaves behind a key in a room and clap his hands for a prescribed number of times, the detector responds to the clapping by alarming or in human voice as 'Here is the key', or the detector turns on a light in response to the hand clapping or performs other tasks. SOLUTION: The clapping detector measures clapping by distinguishing it from noise, detects and decides the interval and the number of times of the clapping. When they match specified values, the detector recognizes that it is called by the clapping to raise a signal, which is used for a trigger signal for response to an alarm tone, a voice, a light or the like for a designed task purpose.
