PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical drive method for an optical disk device suppressing deterioration in recording material in a start end and a terminal end of a recording area of an optical disk. SOLUTION: In the optical drive method for the optical disk device recording/ reproducing information on the optical disk having the recording area 116 recording the data and an address area 113, when the data are recorded, the optical drive method for the optical disk device irradiates a beam 132 of power larger than the power 133 of a reproducing beam on a whole part or a part of the address area, and irradiates the beam before a prescribed time of the time starting the recording operation, and/or irradiates until the prescribed time elapses after the recording a operation is ended.
