Introduction of reinforcing glass fibres into accelerated polyester moulding processes is effected by feeding the fibres in the form of a continuous thread between two parallel drums with horizontal axes, one of which is motor driven and carries knives projecting radially on its periphery, and the other of which consists of rubber and is driven by friction with the first drum, so that the continuous thread is cut into sections with a length equal to the spacing of the knives. The sections fall freely into a projecting gun in the form of a transverse screen in front of the orifice of a compressed air injection tube so that the fibre sections are dispersed energetically and distributed uniformly in the air to form a homogeneous stream which is expelled at a high velocity from the gun. Method gives very homogeneous glass fibre-reinforced polyester pdts. which have high strength and quality.
