The flap (22) is contained within the general volume of the dash board when the bag is not activated and lies outside this volume, when the bag is activated. A stop (50) is fitted within the dash board to restrict the opening of the flap to a pre-set position, such that the flap acts as a deflector to guide the air bag into the required position. The vehicle dash board (20) is fitted with a mobile flap (22), which works with a safety system (40) to deploy the safety air bag (42).
