PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and erasing method which is the information recording and erasing method for recording information on a phase transition type optical recording medium or erasing the information from this recording medium by using near field light and is capable of stably recording and erasing the information at a high speed as well as an information recording and erasing device which is capable of stably recording the information at a high speed to the phase transition type optical recording medium and erasing the information from the recording medium by implementing the information recording and erasing method and the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a recording layer 103 formed of a phase transition material for recording the information and the phase transition of the portions 1030 irradiated with the proximity field light to a crystalline phase or amorphous phase is caused by the heating resulted from the irradiation of the recording layer 103 with the near field light NE, by which the state recorded with the information or the state erased with the information by the phase transition state is obtained. In recording or erasing the information by the near field light NE of the optical recording medium 100 at this time, the portions 1030 irradiated with the proximity field light and (or) the portions 1031 near the same are auxiliarily heated to respective different prescribed temperature when the information is recorded and when the information is erased. |
